Ensure that your employees can download reports from Spidergap

Take proactive steps to ensure that your participants can download reports without issues.

It’s important to take a few proactive steps to ensure your team can download reports from Spidergap. This guide will help you and your IT team ensure that your network settings, firewalls, and security protocols are configured to allow report downloads from our platform.

1. Allow Access to Spidergap Domains

Ensure that the following domains are permitted in your network and security settings:

  •  spidergap.com
  • app.spidergap.com

If your security settings require specific IP addresses for approval, please contact us at support@spidergap.com, and we’ll provide the necessary details.

2. VPN and Network Considerations

If your employees use a VPN, verify that the VPN settings do not restrict access to our domains or block file downloads. Additionally, ensure that your network firewall allows traffic to and from Spidergap domains, particularly when downloading PDF files.

3. Firewall and Security Software Settings

Ensure that your firewall or any security software does not block file types like PDFs from being downloaded. Sometimes, stricter security settings may prevent certain file types from being accessed.

4. Browser and Device Compatibility

Please encourage your employees to use the latest versions of supported browsers and make sure that any security plugins or browser settings do not accidentally block downloads.

5. What to Do if a Report Download is Blocked

If someone tries to download a report and it is blocked, they may experience:

  • The download link not responding or nothing happening when clicked.
  • Error messages indicating that the file type or domain is blocked.
  • The download appearing to start but not completing.

If any of these issues occur, it’s likely due to network or security settings. Employees should reach out to their IT team with details about the browser, device, and network they are using. The IT team can then adjust settings to ensure Spidergap’s domains and file types are permitted.

6. Testing Outside the Corporate Network

To determine if the issue is network-specific, ask your team to test downloading the report link from a personal device or home network. If the download works outside the corporate network, it indicates that the issue may be related to the corporate network settings or security measures.
